APEC Future Economic Leaders' Think Tank
| | The Australian Government hosted a landmark intellectual property symposium in January 2007. Trading Ideas - the future of IP in Asia Pacific was the first major public private sector event of the APEC Australia 2007TM Calender and featured more than 30 expert speakers from around the globe, highlighting emerging issues in the region. The program highlighted emerging IP issues, new policy directions, business case studies and issues for the IP profession. It also provided a forum to explore the future direction of IP in the Asia Pacific region. Speakers at the symposium included the Deputy Director of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Dr Francis Gurry, the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Mr Jon Dudas, and the President Elect of the European Patent Office, Ms Alison Brimelow. |
