The is the text of the 1999 APEC Electrical and Electronic Equipment Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA), which has the objective of facilitating trade in regulated electrical and electronic equipment in the APEC region. Although published under the previous Government, it is intended as a factual document.
Under the MRA, regulators in one participating jurisdiction will recognize test reports and certificates of conformity issued by designated test facilities and conformity assessment bodies in other participating jurisdictions in the same manner in which they recognize tests reports and product certification issued by test facilities and conformity assessment bodies in their own jurisdiction.
