First meeting
The first meeting of the SILG was in Melbourne on 26 February 2004. The meeting discussed the Action Agenda process and how to proceed. It considered a definition for the industry.
Second meeting
The second meeting of the SILG was in Sydney on 11 May 2004. The chairs of the working groups reported on the key issues affecting the industry’s growth. The SILG reallocated common issues to the appropriate working group. It agreed on the definition of the science industry, and a structure for the action agenda report.
Third meeting
The third meeting of the SILG was in Melbourne on 27 July 2004. The meeting proposed a tentative vision for the industry. It discussed the issues papers developed by the working groups, prioritised the issues and provided guidance to working groups developing the issues papers.
Fourth meeting
The fourth meeting of the SILG was in Sydney on 13 October 2004. The meeting discussed and refined the recommendations. It consolidated the priority issues and common themes from the issues papers and proposed a set of recommendations that would form the strategic framework for the action agenda.
Fifth meeting
The fifth meeting of the SILG was in Melbourne on 8 December 2004. The meeting agreed on the vision for the science industry. It discussed the first draft report and agreed amendments.
Sixth meeting
The sixth meeting of the SILG was in Sydney on 15 March 2005. The meeting agreed on the amendments to the final report and noted progress on Action Agenda initiatives.
