Objective

The key objective of JIAC is to obtain for Australian industry the maximum amount of work available from the JSF Program including work that will develop and sustain strategic capabilities to support the aircraft by:

  • Providing input into the JSF Industry Engagement Strategy and Plan;
  • Developing and Promoting a Team Australia approach to marketing Australia's aerospace industry capabilities to the JSF prime contractor, its partners and sub-contractor;
  • Providing strategic advice to the ICTs to guide and assist their participation in all phases of the JSF Program;
  • Representing the views of the ICTs to Government, and advising Government on strategies to secure specific major outcomes and to remove major impediments to fair competition for Australian participation in the JSF Program;
  • Providing strategic advice to Government to ensure the key industry capabilities required to support the JSF are developed and sustained in Australia;
  • Fostering unity and collaboration within Australia's aerospace industry, particularly between large and small to medium enterprises; and
  • Capitalising on existing in-country capabilities to pursue work across all ICTs and achieving specific major outcomes for Australia, including:
    • Capturing and exploiting Australian industry participation during SDD, LRIP, FRP, sustainment and follow-on development phases of the JSF Program;
    • Securing a Regional Support Capability in Australia;
    • Maximising Australian industry's involvement throughout the design, software development and sensitive technology elements of the JSF Program; and
    • Securing Australia's position as a prominent science and technology partner of the US throughout the JSF Program.
