The Australian Government’s Clean Technology Program provides incentives for manufacturing businesses to reduce emissions and invest in clean energy, as well as for innovative businesses in all sectors to develop new clean technologies and services. The program is part of the Australian Government’s Clean Energy Future plan, and has three components:
- the Clean Technology Investment Program provides $800 million over seven years until 2017-18 to help manufacturing businesses invest in energy efficient capital equipment and low emissions technologies, processes and products.
- the Clean Technology Food and Foundries Investment Program provides $200 million over six years until 2016-17 to help food and foundry manufacturers invest in energy efficient capital equipment and low emissions technologies, processes and products, and
- the Clean Technology Innovation Program provides $200 million over five years until 2017-18. The innovation program helps businesses in all sectors undertake applied research and development, proof-of-concept and early-stage commercialisation activities that develop new clean technologies and services, including low emission and energy-efficient solutions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The programs are delivered by AusIndustry, which is the Australian Government’s business program delivery division within the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education. AusIndustry is supported in the delivery of these programs by Innovation Australia, an independent statutory body. Applications can be submitted at any time.
