Joint Strike Fighter (JSF): Australian Approach and Information for Industry 

The Australian Government and industry are working together as "Team Australia" to maximise Australian industry participation in the JSF program. 

The Government's JSF Industry Team assists by: 

• Facilitating opportunities with JSF contractors through Industry Capability Teams (ICTs); 
• Supporting the JSF Industry Advisory Council;
• Implementing the JSF Industry Engagement Strategy;
• Fostering Science and Technology development; and
• Providing information and advice for industry on topics such as:
• International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) Seminars (February/March 2006)
• Defence Export Trade Controls Information Booklet
• Australian export Controls for Defence and Dual-Use Goods
• JSF Relevant Government Support Programs
• Doing Business with JSF Contractors
• Fact Sheet on Request for Visit Authorisations (RVAs)
• Managing your Intellectual Property (IP)

Australian industry is advancing the Team Australia approach through the ICTs. Lockheed Martin welcomes the use of ICTs, and the Australian Government acting as a conduit for information flows, to simplify and coordinate the work flow process. 

The objectives of Government facilitation include:

1. Ensuring fair and equitable access by Australian companies to JSF contracts;
2. Proactive marketing of Australian capabilities to the JSF contractors;
3. Opening necessary paths through US technology export and intellectual property controls;
4. Consolidating critical mass around key Australian capabilities; and
5. Fostering Australian industry capabilities for the support of Australia’s JSF fleet.
