The Australian Industry Engagement Strategy for the Joint Strike Fighter Program was developed by the JSF Industry Advisory Council with the assistance of officials from the Departments of Defence and Innovation, Industry, Science and Research.  You can download the strategy by clicking the link at the bottom of this page.

The strategy outlines a competitive analysis, objectives, roles and responsibilities, planning and management structures, and reporting and evaluation procedures, for the life of the JSF Program.  The strategy will be implemented via JSF Industry Engagement Plans, which are to be formulated annually.

The strategy is written for the life of the JSF Program (potentially 30+ years).  The key objective is to maximise Australian participation, on a commercial basis, over the life of the program.  The strategy also outlines the objectives of developing and sustaining, on a commercial basis, industry capabilities that aid the self-reliance of the Australian Defence Force; fostering global integration of the broader Australian aerospace sector in a competitive and flexible environment; and helping to grow the Australian economy.

In addition, the long-term targets articulated in the strategy are Australian participation in JSF software development; hosting of a regional support capability for the aircraft; and effective engagement, through the JSF Science and Technology Program, in design and development of next-generation technologies for upgrades to the aircraft.
