Funded projects 

Through the Buy Australian at Home and Abroad initiative, the Australian government boosted Supplier Access to Major Projects (SAMP) funding to provide Australian industry with greater supply opportunities in Australia's resources boom.

In 2011-12, the following projects in the resources sector received funding through SAMP:

Industry Capability Network Western Australia (ICN WA) This grant will increase opportunities for Australian industry to access tier two opportunities in Woodside's proposed Browse Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) project. As well as linking Australian businesses to work packages, this project will look for opportunities for overseas manufacturers of leading technologies to enter into joint ventures with Australian companies.   $382,300 Linus O'Brien

Industry Capability Network South Australia (ICN SA) This grant will link Australian companies to Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management firms that will be involved in the proposed expansion of the Olympic Dam copper and uranium mine in northern South Australia. The Industry Capability Network (ICN) is prioritising work packages to focus on those with highest impact and value to Australian suppliers. The ICN will also support Australian industry entry into BHP Billiton's global supply chains.   $326,000 Darren Hill

Northern Territory Industry Capability Network (NT ICN) This grant to ICN NT is for its work in maximising the number of Australian suppliers tendering in the proposed $25 billion INPEX Ichthys LNG project. To date, ICN NT has linked Australian companies to 286 work packages and more than 4000 Australian and New Zealand companies have registered their interest in participating in the project. The grant will allow ICN NT to keep working with INPEX until 2013.   $298,000 Kevin Peters

Industry Capability Network Queensland (ICN Qld) This is the second grant to ICN Qld for its work in helping Australian industry access supply opportunities in LNG projects in the Surat Basin, Bowen Basin and Gladstone areas in Queensland. Three projects in the Gladstone area, with a combined value of $50 billion, have reached Final Investment Decision and are under construction.   $198,900 Peter Robinson
