The Resources Sector Supplier Envoy plays an important role in the Australian Government's mission to help industry win more business on major resources and government projects.
The Envoy will:
- Chair the Resources Sector Supplier Advisory Forum
- Promote the capabilities and competitiveness of Australian industry to resource development projects at home and overseas
- Help Australian industry access global supply chains through trade missions and overseas visits
- Provide feedback and advice to Government and industry on opportunities and strategies for development.
Prior to the first Resource Sector Advisory Forum in November 2011, the Envoy conducted national industry consultations. These consultations discussed the barriers that Australian industry faces when trying to gain access to global supply chains.
