The Inspiring Australia Report provides a framework and a broad strategy for Australia to work together on improving science engagement in Australia. However, the Inspiring Australia Strategy has to have greater depth and more detailed action in order for all the partners to be able to effectively work together.
Therefore, the Australian Government has facilitated the establishment of Expert Working Groups on specific areas of science engagement in Australia. Members of the science community are now encouraged to align their activities with these recommendations and where possible to specifically act on these recommendations in order to support a common and collaborative way forward.
Further to this, the Australian Government has allocated $750 000 to support some key recommendations from these reports. The recommendations funded by the Government were prioritised by external experts in these areas and several projects are now underway.
