Joint research centres

Joint research centres (JRC) are virtual centres which link Australian and Chinese research institutions in a specified field of research.

ACSRF funding supported the establishment of six JRCs, which were announced in December 2012.

For information on the six funded centres and their activities, go to joint research centres.

Group missions

Group missions are visits by Australian groups to China or Chinese groups to Australia. Groups must be of two or more personnel. Group missions are funded to achieve specific purposes related to research and research-driven innovation.

For example:

  • negotiating and signing research facilitation agreements
  • planning joint research programs.

The 2013-14 round of group missions is now closed. To date, the fund has supported 87 group missions to China. Read more about group missions.
