The Knowledge Intensive Service Activities (KISA) study, released in February 2005, was an OECD project which focussed on developing an understanding of how firms in different industries use KISA in their innovation processes to develop knowledge based skills and capabilities. KISA comprise a range of service activities such as business and technical services, used in conjunction with core production and service operations.  Australia and Finland co-led the KISA study which involved 11 countries and a range of sectors including, ICT and Tourism.

The report below details the findings of research undertaken to examine KISA in Australia’s Software, Tourism and Mining Technology sectors.
