Institutional Grants Scheme (IGS) 

Commencing from the 2010 academic year the IGS has been refocused into the JRE program. 

The IGS provided block grants, on a calendar year basis, to eligible Higher Education Providers (HEPs) to support research and research training activities.

Guidelines

The IGS is a program specified in Chapter 1 of the Other Grants Guidelines (Research) made under section 238-10 of the Higher Education Support Act, 2003. The guidelines that applied to IGS are in the Other Grants Guidelines (Research) 2008 (Repealed) which can be downloaded from the Australian Government’s Federal Register of Legislative Instruments at:
