Report of the Small Business Deregulation Task Force
In April 1996, the Australian Government established a small business deregulation task force to review the compliance and paper burden imposed on small business. The Task Force was to report to the then Prime Minister through the then Minister for Small Business and Consumer Affairs, the Hon Geoffrey Prosser MP.
The Task Force was required to report to the Government on revenue neutral measures that could be taken to reduce the paper and compliance burden on small business by 50 per cent.
The Task Force was chaired by Mr Charlie Bell, Managing Director of McDonald's Australia. Other members were Mr Greg Taylor, Ms Claire Grose, Ms Lynda Dean, Mr Simon Hegarty, Mr Mark Kuperholz and Mr Roger du Blet.
The Task Force handed its report, Time for Business, on 1 November 1996.
